Foundations Upgrade (Rec to Tech)

Purpose

The ISE Foundations Technical Upgrade is your gateway from advanced recreational diving into the exciting world of technical exploration. Designed for certified ISE Recreational Level 2 or ISE Foundations (Recreational) divers, this upgrade refines your skills, expands your limits, and earns you your first technical certification.

You’ll master the use of a bottom stage and Hyperoxic Trimix (30/30)—perfect for no-decompression dives down to 36 meters. More than just a certification, this upgrade is your essential step toward all ISE Technical Level courses.

This course is for divers who feel the pull to go deeper—those who crave more precision, more control, and more understanding of the underwater world. You’ll learn to blend the benefits of Nitrox and Trimix while staying within recreational boundaries, gaining the confidence and skills to safely extend your range.

From perfecting buoyancy and trim to developing effortless finning and team awareness, every session focuses on mastery and comfort in the water. Training takes place in doubles with one stage, providing the foundation for your future technical dives.

ISE Foundations isn’t just a course—it’s the ultimate tool to build a lifetime of safe, confident, and inspiring diving adventures.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE CLASS CAN BE CONDUCTED IN:
opencircuit backmount / sidemount or any rebreather that you are certified on.

Duration

This class will be conducted over a minimum duration of 1 day.

Prerequisites

• Must be 16 years old and above.
• Must be ISE Foundations (Recreational) or equivalent
• Must be able to swim 20 m on a breath hold.
• Must meet the general fitness level for the sport

Limits

• Student to instructor ratio will not exceed 3:1 in all in-water and surface sessions.

• Maximum training depth of 36 m.
  

• No decompression.
  

• No overhead environment
